Google Art Project

Imagine spending an afternoon, strolling through the wide halls of the Tate Britain in London. Then stop by the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid for a glimpse of the great works of Picasso and Dalí. When you've had your fill of the Spanish masters, why not head to the MoMA in New York City to finish your art excursion. While this might seem like an ambitious endeavor, with the help of Google's Art Project, you can indeed visit these amazing art galleries, and many others, in just one afternoon from the comfort of your own home.

Thanks to the power of technology, Google has been able to provide users with a unique view of the world's greatest art museums. Some of the Art Project's amazing functions include:
  • Access to thousands of detailed, high-resolution images of pieces from the featured museums
  • A "Create an Art Collection" option to gather your favorite artwork images into one personalized collection that can be shared with family and friends
  • An indoor Street View-esque function to navigate through and explore each gallery as if you were right there
While it might not exactly capture the thrill of actually visiting these museums, the Google Art Project might just save you a bundle on airfare for your next vacation.
